Free Simple but significant Crochet Bath Pouf Pattern

I thought I would re-share one of my lost posts! Today I am adding back my Free Crochet Bath Pouf pattern. I will also be adding a link to a super cute square face srubby pattern that my friend created that is a great addition to this bath pouf for a perfect little gift set…and I also have printable packaging that really add the finishing touch to this pair.

My friend Michelle over at Made by Kamille designed a super cute little square face scrubby and it is now available in her Etsy Shop! I was so inspired by this pattern I wanted to make a bath pouf to go with it. Usually face scrubbies are round, but this square version works just as great, and her unique little bobbles make the cloth a wonderful cleaning cloth. I decided to share my bath pouf pattern today since together, this square face scrubby and my bath pouf make a pretty great set.

I have tried a few different Bath Pouf patterns and I have found that I like mine to be a little less full. After using these for a few years, I have found that if you make the bath pouf too full then it doesn’t dry out completely between washes. I started using a few less stiches which makes the pouf less full and I use a more open center which helps it to dry out between uses. I also started making a more reinforced hanging string and have finally found a bath pouf that I really like.

Making bath poufs are pretty simple all you really need to know is how to do a few basic crochet stitches and you are ready to start.

Materials for completion:

100% Cotton Yarn – worsted weight category 4 weight yarn

Yarn used for pattern is Dishie from Knit Picks 

US H8 5mm crochet hook (or hook appropriate for yarn you are using)

Darning Needle

Gauge: Not necessary for this project

Terms:

ch = chain

dc = double crochet

sc = single crochet

slst = slip stitch

The ch2 at the beginning of each round counts as a stitch, you will also work in the same direction, do not turn your work.

Chain 35, work 1 sc stitch into the back hump of each ch starting with the 2nd ch. Join both ends with a slip stitch.

Ch 4 and join into a ring.

Round 1: Ch 2, work 9 dc into the ch4 ring. join in the round with a slst (10)

Round 2: Ch2, 2 dc into the same stitch as the ch2, *3dc into the next st. Repeat from * to end of round, join in the round with a slst. (30)

Rounds 3: Repeat round 2. (90)

Rounds 4: Repeat round 2. (270)

Round 5: Ch1, *sc into the next st, ch1. Repeat from * until end of round, join in the round with a slst. (270 sc, 270 ch1 for total of 540)

Fasten off and weave in yarn tails.

Now you have a super cute bath pouf that should last for quite some time. The nice part about cotton bath poufs and scrubbies is that they can be washed with your other towels. Just toss in a small garment bag and wash them in with your laundry!

One thing I like to do with my bath poufs is add a second color for the last round of the pouf. Change color before starting round 5 to add a fun new look to the pouf!
