Special Instructions

Images are from my Bobble Soap Saver Pattern, but since the stitch is the same I just added them to this pattern.

Creating the Bobble Stitch for this Pattern

ch 2 when starting the first bobble, yarn over, insert into ch1 space, yarn over and pull through 2 loops on hook. This is a partial double crochet. See images below

Hand Sanitizer Cozy Pattern

Do 3 more partial double crochets in the same space, you will have 5 loops on your hook. Yarn over and pull yarn through all 5 loops. See images below

Chain 1 to complete the bobble. Completed bobble below

Watch a video on how to complete the Bobble Stitch for this pattern: BOBBLE STITCH VIDEO

On video for bobble, if you just want to see the partial bobble skip to 1:30 for the partial bobble instructions

Working the Partial Bobble

The Partial bobble is just like the regular bobble but you will only do 3 partial double crochets instead of 4, you will have 4 loops left on your hook, yarn over and draw through all 4 loops, then move on to joining the round with a slip stitch (you will not ch1 at the end of the partial bobble)

Modifications

This pattern is fairly easy to modify as it is a repeat of 2 rounds. If you need your cozy longer just increase the number of times you repeat rounds 4 & 5. If you need your cozy to be a bit bigger you can increase the number of chain stitches in the initial foundation chain, then on round 1 is worked as is for the pattern, most hand sanitizer bottles will fit in this cozy, you just may need to adjust the opening and the length of the cozy to fit other bottle sizes.

Modifications for the smaller cozy:

Round 4: ch2, 1 bobble into the ch1 space (the space between each sc) until the last space, in the last space do a partial bobble. join round with a slst into the space between the ch2 and the first bobble. (10 bobbles)

The last bobble of round 4 you will do a partial bobble, do 3 partial double crochet stitches into the same space and then leave off the last ch1. See video for more detailed instructions. Then slip stitch to join. The ch2 that starts the round is the last part of the last bobble of the round.
