Free Mug Rug Printable Tag

The Mug Rug…it seems to be growing in popularity 🙂 I had never heard of one of these until late last year and I thought it was such a clever name. When doing some research I found that it was a popular quilting item, perfect for use with scraps from leftover quilts. I quickly made a few knit and crochet ones for myself and new I wanted a tag that would work for mug rugs made with yarn.

One of my favorite Mug Rug patterns is by Deni Sharpe, her Misha Mug Rug and Cozy patterns are so pretty and make a perfect matching set! I love the stitch she chose in this pattern, it is easy to work up and has such wonderful stitch definition when worked using cotton yarn.

I have been making my mug rugs using Lion Brand Comfy Cotton Blend Yarn, I love the color options they have for this yarn and it looks beautiful worked up in this pattern. Cotton or Cotton blend yarns are one of my favorites for coasters and cup cozy’s I find they feel more comfortable on your hand and don’t stretch like acrylic yarn does, though there are some great acrylic yarns that can be used for cozy’s too.

I love making printables for the items I make, most of the items I make I give as gifts and I think packaging is such an important part of the gift giving experience. And as a seller, most items require some sort of packaging to identify what the item is.
