Printable Hangtag for Crochet Hair Kerchiefs

In the past, I’ve shared one of my favorite methods for adding tags to my handmade items, I like to use paper hangtags to label each product. At markets and craft fairs, a clear label can make a big difference, especially for items that might be new to customers or not immediately recognizable.

Take a hair kerchief, for example. It’s a lovely accessory, but not everyone may know what it is just by looking at it. Adding a simple tag helps shoppers quickly understand what the item is and how it’s used.

To create my hangtags, I use the Fiskars Tag Maker, a super handy little tool that lets you cut tags, punch holes, and add eyelets all with one easy lever punch. It works beautifully with Fiskars brand eyelets. While the exact model I use is no longer sold (I got mine at Joann), you can still find similar versions that work perfectly with my free printable tags.

Even if you don’t have a tag punch tool, no worries! You can print the tags and leave them as rectangles, or trim the corners by hand for a more custom look. There are so many creative ways to use them.

When I started making Brynn Hair Kerchiefs, I knew right away that I wanted a special tag to label them with. I wanted something that would complement their handmade charm while clearly labeling the item, so I created a new tag design and added it to my Collins Collection Printables.

I’ve really enjoyed making the kerchiefs themselves. While planning for an upcoming camping trip, I made several using Knit Picks City Tweed yarn in a few different colors, and I love how they turned out! The texture and drape are just right for this type of project.

The pattern I used is by Deni Made, and I highly recommend it, it’s simple, beginner-friendly, and easy to follow. Whether you’re making these for yourself or as gifts, they come together beautifully. You can find the pattern in her Etsy or Ravelry Shops.
